I've been interested in art from a very young age, I was fortunate enough to attend a small rural Yorkshire village school in the 1970’s where one of our teachers Lucy Hainsworth introduced us to so many different aspects of art, that you just couldn’t fail to get hooked on to some form of the arts.

Painting was my hook, Picasso & Van Gogh were my particular favourites in those early days. I then went on to secondary school where I thoroughly enjoyed conceptual art and art using mixed media. Life then somewhat took over and it wasn’t until many decades later that I began to think about creating art again.

In 2019 I discovered fluid acrylic painting and have thrived creating art using this technique, the alchemy of the processes involved are fascinating to me and the fact that you are unable to create the same piece of artwork no matter how hard you try is something which I really like, no two pieces are the same and so each client truly receives an original, unique piece of art.

My artwork is often inspired by nature as well as music. I get my ideas whilst I am out and about in nature, usually on a dog walk, I then mix my paints and create the art whilst listening to music. I really enjoy seeing peoples reactions to the art and talking with them about the images that they see within the artwork itself, my art is unnamed as I prefer people to see what they want to see within each piece and not to be influenced by my vision.

As well as creating pieces for sale, I also take on commissions. If you would like to commission a piece of art for yourself please contact me below.

WHY VERARTY?

Simply because my beloved late mothers name was Vera and it is also my middle name, my mum was wonderfully creative, she had numerous hobbies and I am proud to name my business after her.

Verarty can also be interpreted as very arty or variety and that is what I strive towards, a variety of very arty work!
